Today's ARIN estimated depletion date:

large chunks from 1/8 allocated

2010-05-05

The first significant allocations from the 1/8 block was made today.

Chungwa Telecom in Taiwan got 1.160.0.0/12 (1 million addresses) allocated and China Unicom got 1.24.0.0/13 (500,000 addresses) allocated.

This is significant because there has been reported issues with how “tainted” the 1.0.0.0/8 block would be. We will soon see if these organization have any issue with their new addresses.
